1. Spotlighting Walk            Christian Patteson

7pm Friday 19th September

A walk starting at Hawks Nest Newsagency towards Jimmy’s Beach, through the streets of the “Magic Square” and then down to the Singing Bridge.  With luck we will see a koala or two, bandicoots, brushtail and ringtail possums and perhaps even some dolphins.  Chris is a well-known local identity - a naturalist, author, photographer and horticulturalist.

.

2. Michael Rowe Walk     Peter Brown/Helen Dauncey

11:30am Saturday 20th September

A short drive to the National Park boundary, then a walk through the recently restored Michael Rowe Walk towards Providence Bay and stunning wildflower country.

3. What Natives to Plant on Your Land  John Davis/Terry Inkson

11:30am Saturday 20th September

A walk through the streets of the “Magic Square” giving advice on Australian native alternatives.  Which shrubs and trees work, which don’t and why will be pointed out.  Advice on correct tree pruning for long term safety and tree health and pest plant management will be given.  Information brochures will be available on the day.  John and Terry are Great Lakes Council’s Tree Manager and Noxious Weed Officer respectively.

4. Magic Square Koala Spotting         Christian Patteson

2pm Saturday 20th September

A leisurely stroll through the leafiest part of the Hawks Nest village soaking up the sights of wildflowers in bloom and the sounds of native birds on the wing.  It is likely we will see at least one of the resident koalas.

5. Golf Course and Swan Bay Wildflowers        Anne Haskew

2pm Saturday 20th September

A short drive to the end of the golf course where we will walk the sandy tracks behind Swan Bay to see stunning wildflowers including flannel flowers and flying duck orchids.  We will then cross Mungo Brush Road to see a further profusion of wildflowers behind the golf course.
